I've always thought that my lines lack sensitivity on the Intuos and Cintiq. Updating drivers and adjusting pen pressure curves didn't yield much improvement. In the end, I figured it was a lack of skill on my part (although I'm OK on paper) and hoped that things will improve with practice.
Today, I saw this: artiststoolbox.tumblr.com/post…
Turns out I've been using only half of the pressure levels available.
Needless to say, this made me feel simultaneously very dumb and very happy.
So check it out if you've also been struggling with pressure sensitivity on the Intuos Pro or Cintiq.

Still Alive
Finally resuming The List after a year-long hiatus. Have to review anatomy since I've forgotten much in the meantime (never not drawing for so long again. ) The upside is finding out that Hampton's Analytical Figure Drawing 1 seems to be worth going through despite having covered his book already, since some of the explanations are complementary (e. g. head planes.) Revision will be done largely through the videos instead of the book.
BTW, great resource for figure drawing refs: Croquis Café (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOq-SnwbtX9u231janaHRCo3tcTWshKML)

New Tablet + Progress
First update in a while. Been busy; now getting back into the swing of things.
Got a Cintiq 13HD a couple of weeks ago. At first, it didn't seem enough of an improvement to warrant its price tag, given that I already own an Intuos 5. However, finally got around to using it with Painter, and found the experience substantially improved. So it's a keeper. :D Time to put the Intuos up for sale...

Booya--Finished Hampton
Finally through the whole Hampton figure drawing book; took a long time, but worth it without a doubt. Will be uploading the last of the studies in the next couple of weeks. :boogie::boogie::boogie:
For now, figure drawing is done. Will still be doing some gestures here and there to keep things fresh and build up a visual library. Next up: values.
